OUR PURPOSE

The Women’s Professional Networking Group is a multinational networking group of English-speaking professional women living in the Rhône-Alpes area.  The WPNG was founded to respond to a growing need for a forum enabling internationally minded women to share advice and resources for career enhancement and personal development.

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES

As WPNG members…

  • we act as hosts rather than guests in accordance with the WPNG principles of give and take, so as to favour an environment in which members willingly add value to each other and the group through mutual support, knowledge-sharing and information exchange.
  • we treat each other and our guests with professional respect and courtesy.  We act professionally at all times when contacting WPNG colleagues.
  • we take responsibility for providing up-to-date contact details and information on our professional backgrounds and activities to the Steering Committee in order to facilitate effective networking.

OUR CODE OF CONDUCT

In the interests of professional networking and the privacy of all our members, we as WPNG members make the commitment to adhere to the following code of conduct:

  • To contact the Steering Committee at info [at] wpng [dot] org if we wish to communicate to the whole group.  The Steering Committee will organise distribution if appropriate through the official channels.
  • To give feedback on the outcome of any leads we may receive to the member who provided us with the lead.
  • If for any reason a member asks to cease private communication, this must be respected at once.
  • Due to the sometimes confidential nature of the information and experiences shared in WPNG meetings, to respect and maintain such confidentiality whether it is specifically requested, only implied or unstated.
  • Never to divulge another member’s identity, postal or email address or phone number, nor the content of a private email to another party, which was not included in the original communication, without that member’s express permission to do so.  This is in order to respect members’ privacy.
  • Never to share the membership list in whole or in part with non-members, nor to use it for mass mailings or broadcast emails or messages, nor use it for solicitations for commercial sales, solicitations for employment, donations, political campaigns or actions, petition drives, chain letters, hoax messages, pyramid schemes, and the like.
  • Not to use the WPNG for the sole purpose of job-seeking, soliciting clients or as substitute English lessons.
  • Not to use the WPNG to promote religious, political or discriminatory beliefs.
  • Not to act as WPNG official spokesperson either to the press or in any other official or public capacity without the express permission of the Steering Committee. Questions to or about the WPNG should be referred to the Steering Committee via info [at] wpng [dot] org.
